Freight Forwarder & Distribution Centre Challenges
THE CHALLENGE
Our freight forwarder client needed to manage high volumes of diverse inventory and shipments across multiple clients, carriers, and destinations while maintaining real-time visibility and accuracy. They also needed to manage customs documentation for international clients.
THE PROBLEM
Freight forwarders and distribution centres often rely on a mix of manual processes, spreadsheets, or legacy systems to track inbound and outbound goods. For our client this resulted in limited visibility of inventory status across multiple zones, errors in order picking, packing, and dispatch due to lack of automation, inefficient space utilisation and difficulty meeting customers’ increasing expectations for real-time tracking and rapid fulfilment. They found that these inefficiencies led to increased labour costs, missed delivery deadlines, and customer dissatisfaction.
THE SOLUTION
Implementing the THINK Warehouse Management System provided full visibility and control over their warehouse operations. The real-time tracking of goods from receipt to dispatch ensured accurate inventory data, automation and barcode integration optimised workflows for picking, packing, and put-away, and scalable multi-client and multi-site management allowed them to handle multiple customers efficiently. Also, the integration with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms provided seamless order-to-delivery visibility.
