THE CHALLENGE
Our client is a growing furniture and home goods supplier, they were managing a wide range of products, including furniture, home accessories and larger bulky items. With products available in different colours, sizes and styles, keeping the warehouse organised and maintaining accurate stock levels was becoming increasingly challenging. As our client’s business grew, more stock was being held in the warehouse, and more customer orders were being processed. The existing system relied heavily on spreadsheets, paperwork and staff knowledge, making it difficult to keep track of exactly what was in stock and where it was located.
THE PROBLEM
Finding the right product quickly was becoming a daily challenge. Similar products were stored in different areas of the warehouse, while larger furniture items took up considerable space and had to be moved to accommodate incoming deliveries. This meant that stock locations weren’t always kept up to date. Our client needed a way to bring greater accuracy and structure to their warehouse without adding unnecessary administration.
THE SOLUTION
Our Warehouse Management System provided our client with a much clearer view of its stock and warehouse operations. Using THINK WMS, products could be assigned specific locations, allowing warehouse staff to see exactly where an item was stored before they went looking for it. Product information could also distinguish between different sizes, colours and variations, helping operatives select the correct item when picking an order. Barcode scanning throughout the warehouse helped improve accuracy during goods-in, stock movements, picking and dispatch. Stock levels were updated as products moved through the warehouse, giving the wider business reliable, real-time information. This resulted in better stock accuracy, faster picking, fewer errors and greater visibility across the warehouse, which gave our client a scalable solution to support continued growth.
