FAST-MOVING CONSUMER MARKET SPARES SUPPLIER CHALLENGES

FAST-MOVING CONSUMER MARKET SPARES SUPPLIER

THE CHALLENGE

Middle eastern manufacturer of fast-moving consumable items with a UK central fulfilment hub suppling spares using a range of carriers.

THE PROBLEM

An out-of-date stock spreadsheet was used which required a large manual effort. The business was fast moving, with no integration to customer orders or carriers. To move forward, ERP and CRM integration was seen as a key requirement.

THE SOLUTION

THINK worked with the European roll-out team to design the customer integration and provide technical specifications. WMS was implemented to cover all major warehouse processes, including picking via instructions sent to handheld scanners. Automated parcel carrier integration and label printing greatly simplified the despatch process. THINK consultants assisted the company in training existing staff in the new processes. This included supporting the cut-over with a stock take and data load over the go-live weekend.

What Happens When an Automotive Supplier Gets an Order Wrong?

Running a small warehouse often means balancing tight budgets, limited staff, and increasing customer expectations. While large distribution centres may invest millions in advanced robotics and AI-driven systems, smaller warehouses can still benefit from automation without making a huge financial commitment.

Choosing the Right KPIs for Your Automotive WMS

Why Automotive Warehouses Need Serial Number Tracking

Automotive warehouses manage thousands of parts, many of which can be high-value, safety-critical, or variant-specific. Serial number tracking identifies each individual item uniquely. Here we explain why serial tracking is needed and how the THINK WMS supports it.
